Manchester Woodcraft is a family-owned and operated wood products store and factory in the heart of the Green Mountains of Vermont. We have been making useful and inexpensive household items and furniture for more than 58 years. Founded by Nundy Bongartz in 1950, the tradition of the small factory full of wood and sawdust and a talented crew of woodworkers continues today under the guidance of his family. Housed in a modest building, with no central heat or air conditioning, Manchester Woodcraft is a no-frills operation, much as it was when it all started. The family has preserved the original feel of the business, running bandsaws and sanders in the back and waiting on customers in the front. A phone was only just installed in 1990, and credit cards were finally accepted beginning in 2002. Although Manchester Woodcraft will most likely never be a high-tech operation, this website is one more step into the world of technology.
